[hylafax-users] Shared line setup not answering - not configured error

Any help here would be great!

I have set RingsBeforeAnswer in my config.ttyS1 as below per
documentation for a shared phone line

RingsBeforeAnswer:      0

Set as above the modem is suppose to answer only when I issue a
faxanswer command.  Unfortunatly this does not happen and I am getting
the following errors.

hammer:/etc/hylafax# faxanswer ttyS1
dev_FIFO.ttyS1: open: No such file or directory

When I use faxstate I get the following output

hammer:/etc/hylafax# faxstate ttyS1
dev/FIFO.ttyS1: open: Device not configured

Funny thing is that I can send faxes with the sendfax command.  As far
as sending goes everything seems OK.  I ran faxsetup and answered all of
the prompts.  I also ran faxaddmodem ttyS1.  Is there something I have
missed?

Note I am using v4.0p12 of hylafax and I have run faxgetty -D ttyS1 with
root privliges

The following directory lists might help somebody trouble shoot.

Is the fact that FIFO exists twice a problem?  What I want to know is
how to get rid of the Device not configured error
and how to get hylafax to respond to the faxanswer command as one would
like.

Does faxmodem create/use a FIFO file in a different location than
faxgetty.  Does one of the FIFO file have to go it I want to use
faxgetty?

Any help appreciated.
