That seems to be the issue.  I tried to send the same ps file that
worked using /usr/bin/sendfax using the java sendfax and it sent the
file successfully.

hylafax on the server side can only handle ps, tiff and pdf since
4.1.something.
hylafax' sendfax can convert some formats to a format accepted by the
server,
gnu.hylafax can not.

I wonder why a .ps file appears here.
