Search the archives on my name.  I've done a good bit of research on
this.

Yes it's possible.  Yes I'm doing it.  No it's not easy or cheap.

I posted an open call to anyone doing this on any scale to get after
Adtran to make it easier a week or so ago.

Post back after you have read through the archives.  Ignore everything
older than about a year; too many changes since mid-2001 in this area.
(Not a brush-off, just that I've answered this too many times ;-) ).
