The problem then becomes, how do I extract the Fax Number from each
individual page. That is why it would be nice to be able to do it in
postscipt. There has got to be a way with ghostscipt etc.

 I would do it otherway around. Convert the ps to tiff then use a tiff
splitter to split it into pages. I thing there is a tool for that in
tifflib
