Could someone please help me with alphanumeric paging. I am running hylafax on Sparc Solaris system. The hylafax software is version 4.1. Faxing works fine but not the alphanumeric paging. I don't think that this is a modem issue though, since I am able to connect with the modem via tip, and then send a page manually, using the same modem initialization string as that in hylafax/etc/pagermap. Are the config tags IXOService annd IXODevice, strings that need to be sent to the paging service. In the case of the paging service I am using, the service first sends something like TDD's Enter M and RETURN ID= Is this usual for an IXO/TAP paging service? It looks as though sendpage is getting the text message to hylfax fine, the modem is connecting to the paging service fine also but the page fails. The critical part of the session log is listed below. Does anyone have an idea about what is going wrong? It looks as though the modem is hanging up before the paging service sends the "ID=" string. NO CARRIER ******************************************************* Now for the Hylafax situation. hylafax/etc/pagermap contains the following line: brewer 9,3233000/7656258 323300 is the number for the paging service 7656258 is the number for the pager. hylafax/etc/config.cuab contains the following. The pager related things are at the bottom. I added the the IXO*** things event though most arejust set to default. There was a previous message on the list that indicated that double quotes needed to be removed from IXODeviceID: "PG" and IXODeviceID: "1", so I have done that. *************************************************** Begin ./etc/config.cuab CountryCode: 1 AreaCode: 901 FAXNumber: +1.901.678.4732 LongDistancePrefix: 1 InternationalPrefix: 011 DialStringRules: etc/dialrules ServerTracing: 4096 SessionTracing: 0xFFF RecvFileMode: 0600 LogFileMode: 0600 DeviceMode: 0600 RingsBeforeAnswer: 1 SpeakerVolume: off GettyArgs: "-h %l dx_%s" LocalIdentifier: moto.288.brewer TagLineFont: etc/lutRS18.pcf TagLineFormat: "From %%l|%c|Page %%P of %%T" MaxRecvPages: 25 # # # Modem-related stuff: should reflect modem command interface # and hardware connection/cabling (e.g. flow control). # ModemType: Class1 # use class 1 interface ModemRate: 38400 # locked for fax sending&receiving ModemFlowControl: rtscts # default # ModemNoFlowCmd: AT\Q0 # disable flow control cmd ModemSoftFlowCmd: AT\Q1 # software flow control cmd ModemHardFlowCmd: AT\Q3 # hardware flow control cmd ModemSetupDTRCmd: AT&D3 # DTR off causes modem to reset ModemSetupDCDCmd: AT&C1 # DCD follows carrier # ModemMfrQueryCmd: AT+FMFR? # Class 2 commands work in Class 0 ModemModelQueryCmd: AT+FMDL? # actually shows 144DPI ModemRevQueryCmd: AT+FREV? # firmware revision info # ModemDialCmd: ATDT%s # T for tone dialing MaxTries: 1 MaxDials: 1 RingsBeforeAnswer: 5 PagerSetupCmds: AT&F\Q1E1Q0V1X4\V1S0=0S7=60\N0%B1 SpeakerVolume: Low IXOService: PG IXODeviceID: 1 IXOMaxUnknown: 3 IXOIDProbe: 15 IXOIDTimeout: 20 IXOLoginRetries: 3 IXOLoginTimeout: 30 XOGATimeout: 30 IXOXmitRetries: 3 IXOXmitTimeout: 15 IXOAckTimeout: 30 ************************************************* End ./etc/config.cuab This is what the verbose sendpage command looks like. ************************************************************Begin log of sendpage. gingar{brewer}54: sendpage -v -p brewer Hylafax Test Trying localhost (127.0.0.1) at port 444...
