We have a hylafax server (on FreeBSD 4.3) used primarily for receiving faxes, very low volume - at most 20 per day. However every third or fourth day faxes are no longer received, until I restart the the hylafax server! ps -ax - on fresh reboot includes : 278 ?? Is 0:00.03 /usr/local/sbin/faxq 280 ?? Is 0:00.02 /usr/local/sbin/hfaxd -i 4559 -o 4557 -s 444 300 ?? I 0:03.37 /usr/local/sbin/faxgetty /dev/ttyd1 tt However, ps -ax when hylafax stops responding includes one other pertinent line : 5353 d1 Is+ 0:00.00 getty -h ttyd1 dx_38400 This is always the case - I am therefore assuming that a process has hung somewhere, but how do I resolve this so it doesn't continually recur? And killing this pid is not adequate to get things going again. However, if after killing the getty pid, I kill faxq & hfaxd and then relaunch these - things return to normal. I am loading hylafax from rc.local using the following parameters : #Hylafax /usr/local/sbin/faxq /usr/local/sbin/hfaxd -i 4559 -o 4557 -s 444 TIA, Regards, Kulraj Gurm ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null
