no experience but a link:
www.melware.net (they develop the drivers for Eicon)

There you can get the latest drivers and docs.

As I know the _old_ driver emulated a regular fax modem (i think Class 2 or 
2.0) on a serial device (ttyIxx) so there was no need for capi support in 
the software.
