here is my hack for the "No carrier detected" problem: etc/config.ttyS0: ================= JobReqNoCarrier: 10 # this happens so often that i set # it to 10sec (default: 300sec) JobReqOther: 10 # default: 300 NoCarrierRetries: 3 # default: 1 ================= i also added this to the etc/config file because it seemed not to work. but i might have been wrong - i was very busy and had no time to check. this stuff just sets the waiting time from 5min to 10sec if a NO CARRIER error and "other errors" occur on the modem. it also sets the no carrier retires from 1 to 3. it seems so work for me better with this options - but i have not tested deeply. niki On 21-Aug-2001 Niki W.
