Hi, I hope someone in this list will enlighten me on the subject. I've been setting up an E-mail--> Fax gateway on a FreeBSD box but has had enough things to confuse me. This could be probably because I decided to use Exim, as opposed to sendmail, which seems to be the _preferred_ standard chosen by whoever designed HylaFAX. Please excuse me if you get the impression that I am trolling. I am just having a difficult time and therefore a bit frustrated but I don't have reason to troll, since I've rcvd very positive help from this list. I see quite a number of disparities between the files that are used to configure HylaFAX on FreeBSD and Linux. For example there is no hyla.conf in FreeBSD but there is one in Linux. Is this a design issue or something that can be attributed to the guy who made the port on FreeBSD? I cannot say I've managed to grab the tarball and compile it in FreeBSD. It has always failed so I've stuck to building it from the ports tree. I am only saddened that there is not much support for HylaFAX on FreeBSD (I'll not try to talk for the other BSDs). IMHO, the namings should not matter, if the source is the same. So what is the equivalent of hyla.conf in FreeBSD?? I want to limit those who can access the fax gateway but all that I get from a search of the archives point to hyla.conf. Now my questions are: 1. where do I tell HylaFAX (tm) that the users listed in fileX are the only ones allowed to access the service? I mean in FreeBSD?? 2. How do a tell HylaFAX that I want it to send success notifications to the people who submitted faxes? I use faxmail to pass the messages to the server in this way: command ="/usr/local/bin/faxmail -d $local_part ${sender_address} $h_subject" 3. Is there anyone else on this list who has successfully implemented a fax gateway using Exim, running on a BSD box??
