[hylafax-users] problem with modem

hi,

I'm trying to get hylafax (latest version) to work. After configuring my modem with 'faxaddmodem', i have been trying to get hylafax to start using it. The modem is on /dev/ttyS01, and after running 'faxmodem ttyS01', faxstat does not list the modem as it should be:

golgotha:~# faxmodem ttyS0
golgotha:~# faxstat
HylaFAX scheduler on golgotha.planetinternet.be: Running
golgotha:~#

and nothing more... according to the docs the modem should be listed here...

I tried some strace's here and there (faxmodem seems to send the string +ttyS02:RP3fd5ff3f to /var/spool/fax/FIFO, but faxq doesnt seem to be responding much to that...)

Anybody know what i'm doing wrong? :)
