Thanks for the quick reply. You are right. Somehow I read somewhere that I need an entry in /etc/inittab to spawn faxgetty. I added it and turned out that there is a /etc/init.d/hylafax file too. Now delete my entry in the inittab. Short question: what is the difference between faxgetty and faxmodem? I configured /dev/modem with faxsetup >and faxmodem. What is wrong? Nothing is wrong. If you don't use faxgetty, and use faxmodem, this is normal behavior. The status is only updated when sending a fax. Try it, send a fax and keep doing "faxstat..". -- giulioo@pobox.com ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null
