I've forwarded this back to the list, because I know there are faxmail mavens more maven-y than me. -----Forwarded message from Virg Kinga <virag_k@ibcnet.ro>----- Subject: HylaFAX - faxmail problem Message-ID: <OF56CB44A0.66C2D618-ONC2256A5C.003A290A@orizont.net> From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Vir=E1g_Kinga?= <virag_k@ibcnet.ro> Date: Wed, 30 May 2001 15:19:08 +0300 Hi Jay, I've installed HylaFAX server under Red Hat 7.0. (I'm not very familiar with UNIX systems) My goal is to submit facsimiles via e-mail. I made the following changes (as it says on the Sendmail Mangling for HylaFAX Faxmail page): (I will copy some thing before and after the changes, to make a brief overview about it) /etc/sendmail.cf <start fragment> [...] ################## # local info # ################## Cwlocalhost # file containing names of hosts for which we receive email Fw/etc/mail/local-host-names [...] # my name for error messages DnMAILER-DAEMON # Mailer table (overriding domains) Kmailertable hash -o /etc/mail/mailertable # Virtual user table (maps incoming users) Kvirtuser hash -o /etc/mail/virtusertable CPREDIRECT # CHANGE # Make FAX pseudo domain, to avoid failed DNS lookups CPFAX # Access list database (for spam stomping) Kaccess hash /etc/mail/access # Configuration version number DZ8.11.0 ############### # Options # ############### [...] ###################################### ### Ruleset 0 -- Parse Address ### ###################################### Sparse=0 [...] SParse0 [...] # # Parse1 -- the bottom half of ruleset 0. # SParse1 [...] # CHANGE # forward fax messages to HylaFAX software R$+<@$+.FAX.> $#fax $@ $2 $: $1 user@host.FAX ########################################################################### ### Ruleset 5 -- special rewriting after aliases have been expanded ### ########################################################################### [...] ###################################################################### ###################################################################### ##### ##### MAILER DEFINITIONS ##### ###################################################################### ###################################################################### [...] # relay mailer header masquerading recipient rewriting # SMasqRelay=71 R$+ $: $>MasqSMTP $1 R$+ $: $>MasqHdr $1 Msmtp, P=[IPC], F=mDFMuX, S=EnvFromSMTP/HdrFromSMTP, R=EnvToSMTP, E=\r\n, L=990, T=DNS/RFC822/SMTP, A=TCP $h [...] # CHANGE Mfax, P=/usr/local/bin/faxmail, F=DFMhu, S=14, R=24, M=100000, T=X-Phone/X-FAX/X-Unix, A=faxmail -n -d $u $h $f ######################*****############## ### PROCMAIL Mailer specification ### ##################*****################## [...] <end fragment> I have Class1 modem, it's configured, and I can send fax with the sendfax command. If I dial my fax with minicom, it respondes. Now I want to e-mail to fax, so I send an e-mail from pine to kinga@16.FAX, the e-mail is sent (I can access it from sent-items), but it doesn't get faxed, the HylaFax is Running and idle. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Please help me, any suggestion is welcome. Thank you, Kinga Virg Kinga IBCnet Romnia -----End of forwarded message----- -- Jay R.
