Sascha: I may be mistaken, but get rid of the line with the ip address in $SPOOL/etc/hosts.hfaxd file. I put the ip address in /etc/hosts so ident worked faster. I found that worked fine. my etc/hosts.hfaxd localhost 127.0.0.1 anonymous::I/zWmD4nWev5E:ZPb2qA9o/vTws the above entry was made with the command faxadduser -a admin -p passwd anonymous <Note: Don't leave it like that!> /etc/hosts 10.1.1.1 myntbox Hope it helps. -Tony *********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** On 2/22/01 at 10:28 PM Sascha Herrmann wrote: >X-Approved-By: darren@dazza.org >X-listar-version: Listar v1.0.0 >Sender: hylafax-users-bounce@hylafax.org >Errors-to: hylafax-users-bounce@hylafax.org >X-original-sender: sascha@freund-dirks.de >Precedence: bulk >X-list: hylafax-users > >Hy, > >i got some Problems with HylaFax 4.0.2 (from the Debian Distribution). >When I try to send a fax from WinFlex to the HylaFax Server hfaxd >Interupts the connection writing the following to the logs: > >---- >Feb 22 17:12:53 poseidon HylaFAX[4813]: line "userID:wolfgang" >Feb 22 17:12:53 poseidon HylaFAX[4813]: HylaFAX OLD LOGIN FROM > sputnik.limes.int [192.168.21.11], wolfgang >Feb 22 17:12:53 poseidon HylaFAX[4813]: line "checkPerm:send" >Feb 22 17:12:53 poseidon HylaFAX[4813]: Unable to open the user access > file /etc/hosts: Too many levels of symbolic links >Feb 22 17:12:53 poseidon HylaFAX[4813]: sputnik.limes.int (192.168.21.11): > HylaFAX Old service refused >Feb 22 17:12:53 poseidon HylaFAX[4813]: error:Service refused; you do not > have permission to use the fax server from > sputnik.limes.int (192.168.21.11). >--- > >Viewing faxstats just works fine..., sending Faxes with the new Protocol >too (also from remote hosts)... > >When I do a telnet to port 4557 and type >userID:wolfgang >checkPerm:send > >HylaFax closes the connection without saying any word and writes the above >logs to syslog... > >hfaxd ist started with the options: "hfaxd -i 4559 -o 4557 -s 444" > >What means the line with the "Unable to open the user access file..."? >Using the new Protocol works just fine without this message... > >the hosts file looks like these: >---- >localhost:21:: >192.168.21\..* >.*\.limes\.int$ >---- > >Can anybody help me please, i just need this one Windows Box ( :( )... > >Bye > Sascha > > > > > >____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ > To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Users Mailing List _______________________ To unsub: mail -s unsubscribe hylafax-users-request@hylafax.org < /dev/null
