Fist a disclaimer - I just started using this a week or so ago.  My
observations may be naive.

I run drake 7.2 and couldn't get anything to work until I complied the
source from the CVS.  The CVS fixes loads of "bugs" when working with the
new libtiff (which is what comes w/ Mandrake).

Second, use the USR in Class1 only.  Even if the faxaddmodem says "hey it's
class 2.0", tell it the modem is Class 1.  I got this advise from the list &
haven't looked back.

I think your "just stops" problem has to do with libtiff 3.5 and is fixed
with the CVS code.

BTW:  Thanks to all on the list for their help.  Most of my q's were
answered before I could post (like e-mail received faxes via a pdf).
Hylafax took a while to figure out, but so far is worth it!
