[hylafax-users] Failure to send/recieve fax in Class 2 mode

Hi,

 

Up until know we've been using the modems with hyla in class 1 mode, and everything worked just fine. There was a need to handle dial-in connections also, so we decided to switch to class 2 mode, otherways hyla can't tell a fax connection from a data connection. But in class 2 mode, the fax does not get through between two hyla servers.

 

On both computers the modems are Acorp 56k data/fax/voice modems, and they are recognized with rockwell chipset. Can't get a hold on to the hylafax versions right now, but we installed the hylafax package from the Potato version of Debian Linux.

 

Communication does start, but then both sides log a Remote Hangup: Transmit Phase-B error or something like that. We tried to use the config files from the 4.1b version (class2, and also the ones for rockwell) with no success. Same thing happend using microcom modem.

 

So if anybody met this problem, or can point me where to look for a solution, I'd really apriciate it. I could also use a working config file for class 2 modems, also handling data connections.

 

We also noted the following error messages in the log:

Is it possible, that the modem is not capable of providing a necessary functionality for hylafax? Maybe I should use a different kind of modem?
