Hi, i was a little inexact with my post. this problem only arises when using one version of gcc, version 2.95, as it installs to a directory called "/path/to/gcc/2.95." and the last dot without a folowing number confuses somehow the sed-scripts in configure. And this error is, AFAIK, fixed in the current cvs. i hope this clarifies the situation Christoph Tim Rice schrieb: > > On Sat, 26 Aug 2000, Christoph Scheeder wrote: > > > hi, > > let me throw my heat in here.... > > you stumbled on a problem which was introduced with gcc 2.95. > > with it's release there arrised some problems with regexpressions in > > configure. > > this was discussed a few month before on the list, and there has been > > posted a patch to fix this problem. > > your solution will work without problems, as it is more or less exactly > > what should be in that lines. > > Christoph > > I'm confused.
