It more or less has to have broken at this point.  I don't have a good
control example, but I think the modem is reporting no good lines 
received, even though Hylafax has detected a reasonable number.

Hylafax then initiates an RTN (not to be confused with the problem of
receiving one).

But the remote side is not prepared to resend, possibly because it would
mean manually repositioning the document.
