Faxmail-Problems
Hi all !
I'm running Hylafax 4.1beta2 on SuSE 6.2, and (almost) everything works
fine.
We have a mail-to-fax-gateway, mainly consisting of an entry in the
corresponding user's ~/.forward, for example:
For user "testfaxadress" exists a .forward-file in his home-dir, containing
something like this:
fax@74101588.FAX
Now, when I send a mail to testfaxadress@online-shop-ag.de, I receive a fax
in less than a minute. Fine ! ;-)
The problem is rising up when I use a foreign mailserver to send this mail.
For example, I send a mail from a Freemail-Account (hotmail, gmx, etc,
whatever) to testfax@online-shop-ag.de. After a few minutes I receive
somehing like this :
from mail2.gmx.net [194.221.183.62]
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
fax@74101588.FAX
(expanded from: <testfaxadress@online-shop-ag.de>)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
No passwd file entry for uid 8, cannot expand ~ in "~/.hylarc"
faxmail: Login failed: 500 'USER ': Syntax error, expecting user name..
554 fax@74101588.FAX... unknown mailer error 255
Why does the FOREIGN Mailserver complain ?? I thought it should deliver the
mail to testfaxadress@online-shop-ag.de and OUR server then performs the
forwarding.
What can I do ? Do I have to permit anybody to send faxes over our server
(via hosts) ?? I don't really want to do this....
Thanks for your help !
