Folks, when I tried to set up my system to use Hylafax over a year ago with my USR Sportster datafax modem I had problems. The config file created by Hylafax wasn't correct so I dug out the manual and created a working config file. I posted this file with a note on the news group and have been getting requests for the file ever since (the note is in the archives but not the attachment). In fact, I've had two requests in the last week. Now I'm not proposing that USR modems are superior in any way but mine works in a low stress home environment. I can receive/send faxes without problems. Generally the family sends them directly from MS Word running under win98 on another machine. They also use the great whcf program on the win98 machine to check status, view faxes, etc. In other words, my modem has worked quite satisfactorily for me. BTW, I running Hylafax on an old 486 under SuSE 6.2. My mail id has changed since that initial posting. I also subscribe to several very busy news groups and often get a few hundred emails a day. I only scan the headers and just read the interesting ones so it's quite possible that I may have missed others asking for the USR config file. For those who may be interested I'm attaching the config file again. Let me know if you use it and if it works for you. Obviously, you will need to change country/area codes, name, telephone number....
