Problem: Hylafax configured to page. Sendpages are "sent" Pager goes off. But only the message "No tone" is transmitted. No text. Background Version: sparc-sunos5.5-v4.pl1 OS: Sun Sparc 20, Solaris 2.5.1, reccommended and y2k Patches Modem Hayes Optima 288 History: I have a box someone else configured to send pages using HylaFax. It is being rebuilt on a new HD to be y2k compliant. So I have a "working disk" and a "new disk" Logging set to 0x3FFFF (looks like the most possible...) type 2 modem It is "mostly" correct. Sendpage "sends" a page. The modem trains etc. the /fax/log/c......nnnn records logging in to pageing services. the password is passed. the paging service asks for the message. The next line is the pager pin\015 message \015 \003 "somenumber" \015 Sending the same message from the working disk and the new disk. The only diference is "somenumber" It looks like "somename" is a CRC type thing, checking the message block. And it is being calculated differently on the different disks. Is this a reasonable hypothesis? If so, any clues on how it is calculated? Thanks in hope Evan Roberts Log for info. Note it seems to communicate with no errors?
