The easiest solution is to alter the $FAXDIR/etc/hosts.hfaxd or $FAXDIR/etc/hosts file (depending on the version of the HylaFAX and recent patches) to permit your PC to connect with any username: read the manual page on hosts or hosts.hfaxd to see how to do this.
