I am pretty sure the above should *not* be there, it looks like the modem is wanting to do xon/xoff flow control the ^S and ^Q characters whereas the OS/Hylafax wants either no flow control or hardware. There are also long delays there. Look at the output of stty to see what the OS thinks flow control should be, look at the modem config file for what hylafax thinks make sure they are consistent. Also perhaps just try using the modem to do some kind of data connection like cu or kermit or even ppp, as this is often easier to diagnose problems with hardware and operating system setup. - Robert
