flexfax: almost recv'ing faxes

whenever an incoming fax gets answered by hylafax the file
gets created but turns out empty, I'm also having trouble
getting faxgetty to start on boot (is there anything else
beside the inittab entry?).

I usually just start it in a term like this:
faxgetty ttyS1

I can send faxed fine, though.
