Hi Andrew, looks like you do not have 
a) installed the tiff-package
b) a path to your libtiff.so

for a)
Install the tiff-package 
for b)
as root:
cd /
root@solarisbox>find . -name "libtiff.so" -print
./usr/openwin/lib
./opt/local/tiff/lib

add one of these to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH Environment variable
