RE: Recommendations for a 4 port Modem card for Linux

I appreciate the heads up on this. This would be a consideration if I
did not have a dedicated Fax machine. We have dozens of Pentium
133mhz's lying around and I am just using one of those. I would rather
have 20 small servers rather than one big one that did everything.

That is unless a 133mhz can not handle 8 14.4 modems?

Please notice that those cheap card do not have their own bank or
CPU/RAM
to serve the i/o port and frequent irq calling to cpu cause performance
degrade. Highly recommanded to use the intelligent muklti i/o card
(buid-in
with CPU/RAM) so that the i/o could be self serve and release the main
cpu
to process the image RIP to fax.
