Re: Help regarding Hylafax software

Harsha,

I think you need to find a local unix guru and ask him, I have feeling
the answer I am going to give, won't make too much sense. A tar file is
an archive of many files (rather like zip). However win95 won't read it
except maybe with some utility that I am not familiar with. Your best
bet would be to find a unix machine (probably your shell account) and
then type

tar xvf hylafax-v4.0pl0-tar

(presuming you have copied the file into your current directory).

By the way, I hope you weren't expecting to actually compile and use
Hylafax under Win95 - it won't work.

If you're a student, I'm surprised you haven't trashed win95, in favour
of Linux - far more educational. :-)

Hylafax will run fine under Linux of course.
