Harsha, I think you need to find a local unix guru and ask him, I have feeling the answer I am going to give, won't make too much sense. A tar file is an archive of many files (rather like zip). However win95 won't read it except maybe with some utility that I am not familiar with. Your best bet would be to find a unix machine (probably your shell account) and then type tar xvf hylafax-v4.0pl0-tar (presuming you have copied the file into your current directory). By the way, I hope you weren't expecting to actually compile and use Hylafax under Win95 - it won't work. If you're a student, I'm surprised you haven't trashed win95, in favour of Linux - far more educational. :-) Hylafax will run fine under Linux of course.
