*SIGH*. I think there is a published patch for the gcc-2.8.x
difficulties, and a copy is stashed at
http://cirl.meei.harvard.edu/hylafax/patches. There are other patches
there as well.  May I suggest that you look at these patches?

And look at the RPM written by Darren at ftp://ftp.tpc.int/,
referenced on my http://cirl.meei.harvard.edu/hylafax installation
notes for Linux? I would be happy to include your RPM in those notes.
