Re: WHFC and "document page width"
| But here's the funky shit:
| No matter what printer drivers I've tried (multiple Apple and HP), I always
| get the dreaded:
| "Client does not support document page width, max remote page width
| 1728 pixels, image width 1734 pixels"
|
| So then I go to the server, and submit the document left on the server from
| the failed attempt with sendfax:
| sendfax -n -d XXXXXXX docq/doc24943.ps.5097
|
| And it faxes through no problem...
This is strange. I've never tried this; I should have. This takes away
the theory that there's something wrong in the PS file that the Windows
driver generates.
By the way, one of the cures, suggested by Sam Leffler, is to upgrade to
a new version of GS, after 3.89 or something. I am using GS 5.10; it
doesn't help. If any of you work on linux and want to try out this GS, a
binary version in TGZ format is available at
http://spacenetindia.com/software/gs510.tgz
This distribution also includes the full set of new fonts that came with
the GS distribution. The fonts are a dramatic improvement over GS 3.xx;
this alone is reason to switch, Hylafax or no Hylafax.
I got the problem sorted out by one trick on Winflex once. I tried
setting the Page Setup paper size to various values, and believe it or
not, the A4 size DIDN'T work, and the US Letter size DID. I'd have
thought that the US Letter size, being wider by a few millimetres, would
not work. I have given up any hope of being able to logically understand
the problem since.
You too could try fiddling with the paper size in Page Setup.
