Rob, Could I get from you or somewhere else a bore bones example of using egetty to just detect a fax call. I don't mean really detecting it, but a shell that does nothing but returns "2" so that faxgetty answers the call as fax. I have attempted to do so myself, and everything works but after egetty returns and faxgetty starts answering a fax call, we get a modem write error, the error is coming from a call to the Sys::write(fd, ... function. Here is the tracing of these events, If you could help me I would like to clarify this subject for good. Thanks in advance, Julio Spinelli >From the tracer: Oct 18 16:33:51 puma FaxGetty[21165]: MODEM USROBOTICS SPORTSTER V.34+ FAX / Oct 18 16:33:51 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [5:ATM1\r] Oct 18 16:33:51 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:51 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [9:AT+FCR=1\r] Oct 18 16:33:51 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:51 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [20:AT+FLI="6124845882"\r] Oct 18 16:33:52 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:52 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [9:AT+FAA=0\r] Oct 18 16:33:52 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:55 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [4:RING] Oct 18 16:33:56 puma FaxGetty[21165]: EXTERN GETTY: START "/bin/egetty cua2 38400", pid 21171 Oct 18 16:33:56 puma FaxGetty[21165]: EXTERN GETTY: exit status 01000 Oct 18 16:33:56 puma FaxGetty[21165]: ANSWER: FAX CONNECTION Oct 18 16:33:56 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [5:ATH0\r] Oct 18 16:33:56 puma FaxGetty[21165]: MODEM WRITE ERROR: errno 5 Oct 18 16:33:56 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [17:ATE0V1Q0X4S0=0H0\r] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [32:ATS8=2S7=60&H1&I0&R2S13=1&D2&C1\r] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [12:AT+FCLASS=?\r] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [7:0,1,2.0] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:57 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [14:AT+FCLASS=2.0\r] Oct 18 16:33:58 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [2:OK] Oct 18 16:33:58 puma FaxGetty[21165]: <-- [8:AT+FMI?\r] Oct 18 16:33:58 puma FaxGetty[21165]: --> [31:USRobotics Sportster V.34+ FAX ]
