    Hi!

    I=B4m new to this list, so I dunno if this "errror" has been discussed
    recently. Please help me if You know what to do.

    I=B4ve got a Linux system (2.0.23) with Hylafax v4.0pl1 (Version 4.0 patch
    level 1) and gnu ghostscript with all the std fonts and other fonts I could
    find. When I do faxsetup I can go trough the whole process of configuring
    hylafax, but I always get this message when doing "faxsetup":

    Warning: Font metric information files were not found!

    The font metric information file for the Courier font was not found in
    the /usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts directory. This means that client HylaFAX
    applic
    ations
    that use this information to format ASCII text for submission as fax will
    use incorrect information and generate potentially illegible facsimile.

    If font metric information is present on your system in a directory other
    than /usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts then you can setup a symbolic link to the
    approp
    riate
    directory or you can specify the appropriate pathname in the configuration
    file /usr/local/lib/fax/hyla.conf with a line of the form:

    FontDir:        someplace_unexpected

    If you do not have the font metric information files loaded on your system
    system you can obtain them by public FTP from the place where you obtained
    the HylaFAX software or from the master FTP site at ftp.sgi.com. =20

    Excerpt from my setup.cache:

    # Warning, this file was automatically generated by faxsetup
    # on Tue May 6 19:41:52 MET DST 1997 for root
    AFMDIR=3D'/usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts'     =20

    When I do "grep Courirer *.*" in "/usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts" I get:

    www:/usr/lib/ghostscript/fonts# grep Courier *.*

    Any clues?

Yes, just install the AFM files (and read the FAQ at
