Re: How to ignore the ^L character
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Go to version 4.0pl1, available at ftp://ftp.sgi.com/sgi/fax/
The config file you are examining controls the behavior of the
particular modem. Fax/modems transmit something called "tiffg3",
the standard for fax transmission. If the *sender* has done something
rude with ^L and you are receiving garbage, I suspect that you
are out of luck.
If *you* are the sender, you need to look at what you are using to
transmit the documents. For example, if you are sending text files
using the "sendfax" command, it should be fairly simple to filter out
the ^L's before giving the documents to sendfax. Take a look at the
"sfax" command at ftp://ftp.sgi.com/sgi/fax/contrib/ for ideas
about how to write such a filter.
